Film - Jurassic Park These early scenes in jurassic park convey a crucial moment in the story, the protagonists' introduction to the island setting and the first reveal of it's dinosaur inhabitants. In these scenes see sound used to help sell the concept of these artificially made dinosaurs. The music in the helicopter scene builds and lowers in volume based on whether the shots are in the helicopter (where the dialogue exposition is happening) and outside when we get wide shots of the island. throughout the whole scene we can also faintly hear the helicopter in background but never so much as so its volume would compete with music and other sound effects. Later in the scene as the protagonists first encounter the Dinosaurs the soundtrack builds up in the background. It uses music conventional of an adventure film like Indiana Jones or Star Wars to elate the viewers and sell the beauty of the dinosaurs early on in the film.
